If you’re visiting Rome with 9 of your closest family or friends, finding the right accommodation can be tricky. You could spring for 4-5 hotel rooms and share the lobby and other common spaces with other guests, or you could check in to a private home with space for everyone. Like the Bernini Apartment by Rome Accommodation.
Located on a quiet street parallel to Via del Tritone and just steps away from Piazza Barberini and Via Veneto, the Bernini Apartment is a large 5 bedroom, 3 bath home on the second floor of a historic building. Stay connected with complimentary wifi access throughout the home; stay cool with air conditioning and warm with independently managed heating; stay entertained with satellite TV and SKY subscription with channels in your language of preference.
Upon entering the home (up 1 flight of stairs), a cosy entry vestibule offers the perfect place to leave your shoes, umbrella, coat, and keys – just like home – before entering into the living room. The living room features a large comfortable sofa for seating and a TV with SKY subscription loaded with films and international channels in multiple languages. Beyond the living room is a private dining room and kitchen attached to it. Large windows let plenty of natural light pour in. The kitchen includes all of the modern conveniences of home, like an oven, four-burner stove, dishwasher, coffee maker, pots and pans, dishes, and utensils.
Off the kitchen and living room is a long corridor that connects four of the five bedrooms (the fifth bedroom has direct access from the entrance vestibule or through another bedroom. Four bedrooms have a queens size bed and one bedroom with 2 double beds. All of the baths have spacious shower cabins. While all of the bedrooms have large windows with natural light from an inner courtyard, two of the bedrooms also have small balconies, perfect for a quiet place to read a book or have your coffee in the morning.
The Bernini Apartment is located in the historic center of Rome, just steps away from the “Barberini” metro stop (Line A), which is just 2 stops from Termini Station. Additionally, many buses stop in the piazza to visit nearly every corner of the city.
Via Veneto, the veritable heart of Rome’s Dolce Vita starts at Piazza Barberini. The street is one of the most famous addresses in the city of Rome for glamorous hotels and restaurants, and leads directly to one of the entrances to Villa Borghese Park and Galleria Borghese, the museum that houses part of the family’s private collection.
Via Tritone, another main artery off of Piazza Barberini is a main street with many shopping options, including the recently opened Rinascente department store. Other than the international boutiques, the top floor hosts several restaurants and bars including a rooftop bar that’s perfect for an afternoon aperitivo. The basement highlights some of the ruins discovered during the renovation of the palazzo, parts of the ancient aquaducts from 19 B.C. Enjoy the exhibition with a coffee from the bar located adjacent.
If you’re looking for fabulous Baroque architecture, look no further than down the street at San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane, an unassuming church facade an interior designed by the great Baroque architect, Francesco Borromini. Admire the amount of detail and decoration packed in the small, oval-shaped space with stunning ceiling. Continuing down the street a bit opens up onto the large piazza where the Quirinale (basically Italy’s White House) is located. The center of the piazza features one of the 13 ancient obelisks of Rome as well as sweeping views of the city and St. Peter’s Dome.
The home is the perfect location for a ChefatHome experience – the most booked service by guests offered exclusively by Rome Accommodation.
